Amongst the season of fests and competitions, among the panic-attacks and frenzy that the organizers go through this time of the year, one tends to overlook some stand-out events. One such event is ‘Tasveer’, a photography competition organized by Clicks, The Photography Society of Delhi College of Arts & Commerce (DCAC).

A part of the Annual Fest of DCAC, the competition has been known for its unique photo-stalls and quality pictures every year. This year too, the society has something out-of –the box concept planned and they sure-as-hell don’t want to reveal the surprise! Vaibhav, the President of Clicks, says that the Photo-Exhibition will have contemporary-meets-traditional vibe to it. He says that a lot of brain-storming and effort has gone in creating the whole display. But, sticking to his word, he doesn’t let a single detail slip. So watch out!

The competition has both, on-the-spot and online, version. For The online competition, themed: ‘From a Family Album’ participants can mail in the entries by 5th March to ([email protected]). For more details, such as the Rules & Regulations, visit the link: (http://www.facebook.com/AadyaPhotographyCompetition).

For the on-the-spot-competition, however, the theme will be given of-course, on-the-spot. The winners from both the categories will be announced after the exhibition on 7th March, 2013.

Renowned Photographer Prashant Panjiar has been appointed as the Judge for both the competitions. As one of India’s senior photojournalists and picture editors, Panjiar is actively involved in guiding young photographers. He is one of the three senior photographers who select and mentor young documentary photographers for National Foundation of India’s fellowship programme. Panjiar served on the jury of the World Press Photo Awards in Amsterdam in 2002 and the first annual China International Press Photo Competition organized by Xinhua, the national news agency of China. So the bar has been set pretty high! You can have a look at his amazing work at http://www.panjiarphoto.com/.

Your creativity will not go unrewarded as prizes worth Rs. 5000 are up for grabs. So it doesn’t matter if you carry a DSLR or a phone-camera, all that matters is your vision and your expression. Do not let this opportunity pass by, and learn, comment, discuss, critique and debate as the medium as much as you can.

Join in the event and be a part of something unforgettable.
