The season of college fests has finally arrived in Delhi University for this year as SGGBCC gave this season a kick start with its Media-Marketing fest “Elixir”, a two-day extravaganza from January 29-30. It had all the necessary glitz it needed as the fest held a series of marketing, management, media, and various cultural and entertaining events. The first day started off with the inauguration ceremony where the chief guests, Anamika Rawat (HR manager, Tech. Mahindra northern India operations) and Sri Dhawan (host of sensational TV show ‘Sansani’) graced the event with their presence.

“Aina”, the photo exhibition and a tour of various themes such as bharat ki rajdhani ‘Delhi’, emotions such as struggle, attracted most of the crowd. Later, the street play contest “ehsaas” stole the attention as participants from various colleges such as Hindu, Kamla Nehru, LSR kept the audience glued to their seats with their magnificent display of social issues like caste system, hierarchy etc. The day was further packed with many more fun activities like debate, marketing guru, and Ad mania and so on.

The second day of the fest witnessed a lesser crowd but “encore-western dance” turned out to be the crunch of the day as the best groups from DU performed. IP College, Atmaram sanatan dharma, Maitreyi, LSR and many others displayed beautifully choreographed and energetic performances. DU’s best dancer award winner and famous choreographers of Salsa and Latin dance were invited to judge the event. Day 2 also held a tempting war of ‘food eating competition’, poster making competition, RJ hunt and the creative writing competition, ‘Kalam’.

This two-day affair ended on a high note and sprinkled a festive mood on the DUites, longing for more!
