The annual cultural fest of Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies – Crescendo ’13, started off with a blast right from the very first day on 5th  of March at Diili Haat, Pitampura. The two day extravaganza had it’s share of excitement, joy, celebration, experiences and happiness that no one could have resisted to be a part of. The theme being ‘Cinema’ for this year, each event had a pinch of cinema in it.

Day 1 started off  with the inaugration of the event by Honourable Mr. Reoti Sharan Sharma, seasoned playwright and recipient of the Sangeet Natak Akademy Award. Soon after the inauguration ceremony, there came the sensational and energetic performance by ‘Verve’, the streetplay society of SSCBS. The next event being the dance competition- ‘Encore’, Crescendo 2013 unleashed the magic of dance in all its forms to fulfil the various desires of the heart. Dance competition being one of the major crowd pullers at any fest, involved great music, high energy and brilliant teams.

The time for the most awaited event of the day- INCANTO, the fashion show had finally arrived as the glam dolls of SSCBS showcased their talent, walked the ramp and filled the glamour quotient of the night. Not only was the event about modelling, the budding designers also showcased the ‘Eras of the film industry’ on the ramp. MASQUERADE NIGHT was indeed the perfect event to conclude this power-packed day. Subtle nuances of retro music led to a crescendo of exhilaration and gaiety; overflowing one with the carnival spirit. Masks were provided to all visitors. As the party tempo continued to rise, there wasn’t a single person who was not under the magic of the night.

Day II showcased another round of magnificent spectacles. From the euphonious bands in the morning to the tuneful night by A-bazz, it was a step towards the same exercise as Day I. The first event was OCTAVES, which comprised of a spectacular performance by Dhwani- the music society of SSCBS. The star night had A-Bazz, Punjabi rapper and musician, performing for all those who were present. The night was filled with enjoyment and excitement. A-bazz put on quite a show with the rap and set the stage on fire with mindblowing songs. As everyone gushed about the star performance, it was the perfect end to a thrilling event. 

The event was open for all DU-ites, entry being free only for CBS-ites. The sponsors for Crescendo were Punjab National Bank, IFFCO, AFLON, Prayag, We chat amongst others.Both days were memorable, full of fun and were definitely a break from their usual routine for all the students.  An event which comes once a year, Crescendo promised to be back as bigger and better, ending on a great note.
