Zeal Dance Society, Maitreyi College

University of Delhi is known for having skyrocketing standards when it comes to Western Dance. Season after season, the dance culture in the University has created staunch rivalries, fierce competition, bottleneck climax, everlasting friendships and life enduring memories.

Talking of this year's season, if we were to name one team whose name has reverberated the campus walls of almost every college in the University, it has to be Zeal Dance Society, Maitreyi  College. With victories in over 15 colleges this season which include the likes of Shri Ram College of Commerce, BITS Pilani, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Kirori Mal College, Hans Raj College, St. Stephens, Faculty of Management Studies and many more, the girls of Zeal Dance Society have emerged as undisputed queens of Western Dance. The team also bagged the top position at the dance event in Nokia Indiafest - a national level event held at Goa.

What made all this possible? "It was the motivational support of our super-seniors, determination of the present seniors and constant co-operation of the juniors that kept us going. Most importantly, it was the belief that proved to be the driving force.", says Manat Bajaj, Senior Member.

The different dance styles that Zeal has incorporated in its 8 minutes 30 seconds sequence are: Hip Hop, House, Bollywood, Contemporary and Whacking.

The team is self- choreographed and credits its music edit to Mr. Mihir Gulati.
