Omicron - The annual Mathematics Fest organised by Kamala Nehru College is back! The most happening and not-so-nerdy fest of Kamala Nehru College, Delhi University is just round the corner - packed with exciting events and lots of prizes! It will surely take your brain on a roller coaster ride!!!
 
Following are the details of the fest :-

*SCHEDULE FOR THE PROGRAM*

Friday, 12th October
 
9:00-10:00 am: Registration

9:30-10:00 am: Inaugural Address
  
10:00-10:45 am: Inaugural talk by Dr. R. K. Sharma, Professor, Department of Mathematics, IIT Delhi on “ RK! LZLVK L MQXZ” (Topic of Cryptography)

10:45-11:15 am: Refreshment

11:15- 12:00 pm: Lecture by Dr. Rajiv Sharda, Working forHindustan Times, Oracle and Asia Pacific on the “The Internet Awareness- Past Present and Future” .
 
12:00-1:00 pm: Competitive event: POWER POINT PRESENTATION
Topic: Finding mathematics where you least expect it.
• Maximum 2 teams can participate from a college.
• Each team can have atmost 2 members.
• Time allotted for each presentation will be 7 minutes maximum.
• There will be participation certificate.
VENUE: AUDITORIUM

1:00-2:00 pm: Lunch

2:00-4:00 pm: Informal Events

a.) PAINT -a- CANVAS (Poster making competition)
Topic: Mathematics in Nature
• Anyone can participate and maximum 2 participants per team
• Sheets will be provided to the participants on the spot.
• Colouring material will be brought by the participants.
VENUE: ACTIVITY CENTRE
 
 b.) QUIZOTIC( Mathematical Quiz)
• It is a team event. Each team should consist of 2 members and the members of a team must be of same college.
• There will be participation certificate for each team members.
VENUE: AUDITORIUM
 
c.) MATH-DOKU( Sudoku)
• Open for all.
• It is an individual event.
• Exciting prizes to be won.
VENUE: COMMON ROOM( 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm)
 
d.) NUMBER-HUNT (Mathematical Tambola)
• It will be played with mathematical questions.
• It is an individual event.
• Exciting prizes to be won.
VENUE: COMMON ROOM (2:45 pm – 4:00 pm)

NOTE :

1. All those participants who have registered themselves through email/phone/message have to report one hour before the commencement/beginning of the respective events they are participating in. (The last date for online registration was 10th October 2012).
 
2. All the participants of POWER-POINT PRESENTATION are requested NOT to mention their college name either on the slides or in their introduction otherwise it could entail disqualification of the team.

3. There would be a preliminary round for the event - QUIZOTIC (Maths quiz) from which 6 teams would be selected for the main round.
